Physical performance has always fascinated me from very early in my life. But strangely enough, winning trophies was never my life’s ambition.
After spending years training, having suffered injuries, and then learning how to treat myself, preparation and rehabilitation began to hold the same fascination for me as performance training. My motivation and real passion was not to compete for myself, but to create one hundred champions. When my training career ended, it was clear my true purpose was getting people prepared to go after their own goals and trophies.
I cannot point to the exact moment that transition happened, only that returning the dysfunctional back to the functional preoccupied my mind and became my reason for wanting to continue learning. My preoccupation with healing the debilitated led me on a twenty-five year odyssey.
It all started in the early 1980’s with my first personal trainer certificate from the ACE (American Council on Exercise) and continued with certifications from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and CSCS (Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist). Every new experience ignited a new desire to know more and an aspiration to help as many as I could live up to their pain-free potential.
In 1998, I became a true bodywork practitioner receiving my certification for massage. I continued my studies in many different types of massage and certifications like Acupressure, Deep Tissue, Pre- and Peri- Natal, Neuromuscular, Sports, Swedish, Full Body Stretching, and Gau Shau.
I share my background here as a way to share this commitment I have to all my clients: I believe I can help you live an active, mobile, pain-free life with massage.
